ISCO injection using sodium persulfate
Site Status:
Closed
Envirorisk performed a rapid remedial assessment and designed an ISCO treatment approach to remediate a PCE solvent plume in an industrial park in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
The assessment findings indicated low to moderate concentrations of PCE (260 ppb maximum) in iron-rich saprolite at a depth of 15-25 feet. The treatment goal was to reduce PCE to below MCLs to avoid a possible HSRA listing. A treatment approach was designed that included the delivery of 1,600+ pounds of sodium persulfate with natural iron activation into 15 delivery wells.
Post injection monitoring conducted 45, 90, and 120 days post injection indicated non-detect concentrations of PCE and degradation products after a single injection.
